Engagement Session at Riverwood Conservancy | Toronto WEDDING Photographer
Some engagement sessions call for a single backdrop. This one called for several — and Riverwood Conservancy delivered, with its mix of weathered barns, garden paths, and quiet green corners all within a short walk of each other.
We met up on a warm June evening, right as the light started to soften. The couple leaned into it — playful moments against a rustic wood barn wall, and an easy going nature that shows through in the images. Riverwood has this way of feeling both wild and manicured at once, and it gave us backdrop after backdrop without ever having to move far.
As the evening wore on, the light softened further, and so did the mood — piggyback rides, laughter caught mid-moment, foreheads together against the stone walls of the old buildings on the property. Toward the end we pulled back for a couple of black-and-white silhouettes against the clouds, a nice quiet close to a session that had been casual and friendly.
This one was part of the couple's wedding package, a chance to get comfortable in front of the camera together before the big day — and by the end of the evening, it was clear they didn't need much warming up at all.
